This morning we got the news we have been waiting for. We will get the results of the Covid test today at noon and all are negative. This is as close to the deadline as possible as St. Lucia requires tests, no older than seven days before departure and today at noon is seven days!! We have been worried and Anders has worked a lot to push in a gentle way to ensure progress of the PCR testing procedure, which required repeated contacts. Fatima has been such a rock and given us so much help. She has called the authorities both in Sao Vicente and the Capital town on Santiago, Praia. We are so lucky that she has all the contacts and was able to get in contact with the health minister, the minister of economics and the head of the national institute of health on a weekend. And also Jackie and her colleges in the Marina office has been working day and night to help us and they have been doing this with a great smile and so much patience. We are truly grateful and it feels really good, not beeing left alone in this situation.
We will no start today at 14 Cape Verdian time with the 18 members of the fleet that have patiently awaited the result for a legally compliant departure!! In the meantime we have further strengthen the lovely togetherness among these group of true seamen and seamen. Friends for ever!
You really look very happy to continue your amazing trip. What about the carbon fibre jibstick? Could it be repaired? Best luck!
Congratulatons to St Lucia!!!
